- Comment. Note that he is active in Japan mostly under the name すぎもりえいとく, though there are some sources that give 杉森永徳. Michitaro (talk) 19:58, 1 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

- Delete. That said, I can't find anything substantial in Japanese other than this article on him by the city hall of his hometown. Everything else in English and Japanese seems to be just gallery profiles or catalog listings of his book. Fails WP:ARTIST. Michitaro (talk) 20:04, 1 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete Even if there were sources in Japanese, due to WP:Verifiable the article would only be suitable for the Japanese Wikipedia. Seeing that no sources seem to exist in general it does not meet WP:BLP. Mkdwtalk 21:47, 1 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Just a point of information, but WP:VERIFIABLE in no way excludes foreign language sources from the English Wikipedia (see WP:NONENG). Japanese language sources are just as relevant for determining notability here as on the Japanese Wikipedia. Of the dozens of Japan-related AfDs I have participated in, Japanese sources have been used constantly. The problem with this article is that it is a Japan-related subject with not even enough Japanese sources to prove notability. Michitaro (talk) 17:25, 3 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
